The Vaporesso XROS 5 is the latest flagship in Vaporesso’s hugely popular XROS pod series, released in 2025 and widely praised as one of the top pod vapes for salt nic and freebase users in 2026.

With a massive 1500mAh battery, COREX 3.0 coil technology, ultra-fast 3A charging, adjustable airflow, and a vibrant 0.88-inch color screen, the XROS 5 upgrades everything fans loved about the XROS 4 while staying compact and beginner-friendly.

Whether you’re switching from disposables or upgrading your pod setup, the XROS 5 delivers exceptional flavor, long battery life, and customization in a sleek package.

Flavor & Performance – COREX 3.0 Makes the Difference

The real star of the XROS 5 is the new COREX 3.0 mesh coils, which Vaporesso claims deliver 30% more flavor delicacy and better stability.

Why COREX 3.0 Coils Shine

  • Even heat distribution for consistent hits
  • Faster wicking to reduce dry hits
  • Longer pod lifespan (users report 1-2+ weeks per pod)
  • Richer vapor with nic salts or 50/50 freebase

In practice, flavors pop — fruity salts taste juicy, desserts feel creamy, and tobaccos stay smooth without muting. Adjustable airflow lets you fine-tune from tight cigarette-like MTL to airy RDL draws.

Compared to XROS 4, the flavor holds up longer as the pod ages, and vapor feels denser without harshness.

Battery Life & Charging – A Massive Upgrade

With a 1500mAh battery (up from 1000mAh in XROS 4), the XROS 5 lasts 1-2 full days of moderate-heavy use.

Plus, the 3A fast charging means you get hours of vaping from just 10-15 minutes plugged in — a huge win over older models.

Real-World Battery Performance

  • Light use (MTL salts): 2+ days
  • Moderate use (RDL freebase): 1 full day
  • Heavy use: Still lasts most of a day

The color screen shows clear battery percentage, puff count, and settings — no more guessing.

Design & Build Quality – Sleek and Durable

The XROS 5 keeps the iconic XROS shape but feels more premium with glossy finishes, metal accents, and a satisfying heft.

Available in 10+ colors (Cosmic Black, Lavender Purple, Jade Green, etc.), it looks stylish without being flashy.

The pod fills from the top (leak-resistant), clicks securely, and the airflow slider has excellent tension for precise control.

Who Is the Vaporesso XROS 5 For?

This pod system fits almost every vaper, but shines brightest for:

  • Salt nic users switching from disposables
  • MTL/RDL vapers wanting long battery and fast charging
  • People upgrading from XROS 4/3 for better flavor and runtime
  • Beginners who want simple, reliable performance
  • Flavor chasers who appreciate COREX 3.0 coils

If you prefer ultra-simple devices, consider the XROS 5 Mini (no screen, draw-only). For max power/customization, the XROS 5 Nano or Pro variants exist.

How to Use the Vaporesso XROS 5 – Quick Setup Guide

  1. Charge fully via USB-C (3A fast charge)
  2. Fill the pod from the top (side fill port)
  3. Insert pod — it clicks in securely
  4. Inhale to vape (draw activation) or press fire button
  5. Adjust airflow slider for your preferred draw
  6. Customize screen themes/power modes via menu

Pro tip: Use 50/50 or high-PG nic salts for best MTL flavor; 70VG freebase for RDL clouds.

Vaporesso sent me over both of their new XROS 5 and XROS 5 mini kits to have a blast on and I’ve been happily puffing away on them for a wee bit now.

The XROS series of pod kits has been around for a while now and have been a few people’s staple kits. They always come up as recommendations on the forum for anyone looking for a new pod kit and for a good reason, they are consistently decent. You could argue that they don’t need to be updated so frequently but that’s the nature of business. Companies need to update and innovate to get the sales they need, and everyone likes a new shiny vape, don’t they? Plus, all the previous and new XROS pods fit every version, so you don’ have to upgrade if you don’t want to.

Vaporesso Xros 5

The XROS 5 Mini has a 1500mAh internal battery and comes with a single 0.8ohm pod. It has airflow adjustment and a LED indicator to show the battery level. There are no buttons on the mini as it’s auto draw only, and the maximum output is 30W so it should be able to handle most of the existing (and new Corex 3.0) XROs pods that are out there. The kit comes in 10 different colours.

The XROS 5 also has a 1500mAh internal battery and it also has an airflow adjustment slider on it. This one comes with both 0.8 and 0.6ohm pods. It also has a fire button and screen so it’s clearly the more advanced of the two. The power output is, again, 30W max and the XROS 5 comes in 10 different colours as well.

Both kits come with Vaporesso’s new Corex 3.0 technology in the pods. The marketing blurb claims that this gives you 40% more vapour production, 30% more flavour delicacy, 30% more airflow smoothness, and 30% more performance stability. I wonder if that’s an upgrade on the Corex 2 or if the comparison is with standard pod kits, but then I’ve never really understood or listened to marketing. It’s all about how things perform for me.

Design wise the XROS 5 Mini is your usual squashed pen style vape with branding on the front and back. The one I got was the flowing pink version and I do like the pearlescent effect on the panels, even if I’d have preferred the blue one. On one side is the airflow adjuster and on the other is the USB Type C slot so you can charge it standing up. The pods fit in well, with strong enough magnets that they won’t fly out if dropped and there’s enough room to see all the liquid so you can clearly see when it’s time to refill.

Vaporesso Xros 5

The XROS 5 is longer than the mini and has a fire button above the USB C slot. It also has a screen so that you can adjust the themes and power output, as well as lock the button to make it auto draw only. The one I got sent was the blue silk version and again, I like the styling they’ve used here, it’s all nicely minimal and classy looking.

Function wise there’s not a lot there, as it should be with pod kits. The mini is purely plug and play, you just fill it up, wait a bit then vape. The XROS 5 has a bit more to it. You can set six different themes by clicking the fire button twice. There’s black, white, pink, rainbow, space, and watch to choose from, and the rainbow, space, and watch themes have different animations that run when you take a draw. Three clicks let you change the power output from eco to normal to power. I prefer the power personally but I’m like that with my mods and such as well. Finally, four clicks lets you lock the fire button, so it’s only draw activated, always a handy function to have for pockets and bags.

In use, I’ve found that the vape is, as always with Vaporesso pod kits, lovely. They do seem to be able to get a good cloud of vapour and some great flavour from their kits and pods. The 0.8ohm pod is lovely for a nice loose MTL, and the airflow adjustment allows for a pretty tight draw as well, not super tight but tight enough to keep most folks happy. You can still get a restricted RDL from the mini with the 0.8ohm pod, and I’ve not had any burnt hits, even when taking a few draws in a row.

The 0.6ohm pod on the XROS 5 is also great for flavour and vapour production. There’s a real depth from my DIY juice, and with bar salt juice, it really ups the sweetness and flavour from those as well. I’ve been running it on power mode most of the time, but the eco and normal modes still give that depth of flavour, which is quite impressive to me. I need to add that none of the pods I’ve used on these kits have leaked at all whatsoever, even when left for a day or two on their own.

Final Thoughts

Vaporesso have managed to upgrade the XROS series again. It really isn’t just an upgrade to the look for me, the vape is better with the new pods as well as the battery capacity increase.

The marketing blurb again takes pains to note that they are using ‘mega battery’ technology, and it is quite impressive again that they manage to keep the kits roughly the size of their predecessors while upping the battery capacity. I think the first XROS mini I had was something like 800mAh, and now it’s a whopping 1500mAh. I’m not techie enough to check and compare, but I do like that both of these kits will likely last me whole night in the pub or in the house without needing a charge.

The fact that all older XROS pods fit too is always a bonus. You can use your older ones that you have in stock, but I would recommend getting a pack of the Corex 3 ones when you can as they do make a difference for me personally.
